Removing Problem Coating from a Concrete Floor
Removing existing coatings is often the first step in preparing a concrete floor for polishing or coating. With the right tools and grinding technique, coating removal is easy. With the wrong tools, however, it can be a nightmare.
At Elite Concrete Systems, we use a Werkmaster Titan XT Grinding Machine to remove coatings from concrete floors. We can remove old coatings easily and create a smooth, shiny concrete floor that is attractive and durable.
At the start of every project we determine the nature of the existing material to be removed and check the hardness of the surface using a MOHS Hardness Tester. Different tool configurations are used depending on the type of coating that needs to be removed. Paint, glue and mastic can be fairly straightforward, but Thinset and epoxies can sometimes take a little longer.
If you have just lifted VCT tiles or carpet and now need to remove the remaining mastic or carpet glue, Elite Concrete Systems has the tools and expertise for the job.
