We just completed some polished concrete floors for the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville CT. The school have been building a kitchen and food preparation facility and needed the floors to be polished and sealed.
The ground the floors with 16 grit metal diamond tooling with a light spray of water. We then coated the floor with Elite Crete VR-1 UV stable clear epoxy at a rate of 200 square feet per gallon. The next morning we top coated with Elite Crete AUS-V. This is an Althatic Urathane with a satin Aluminum Oxide additive for slip resistance.
The result is a satin floor, sealed and hard wearing. Attractive exposure of aggregate.
